FINALLY beat Dragon Quest IV, which I started seven months ago. The whole thing was less than 40 hours, even with the bonus dungeon and bonus bosses, and I can't believe it took me so long.

Next I'm going to play Persona PSP, which I bought as an incentive to beat DQIV. :)

Completion to report!
I finished Gabriel Knight 2 last night for the first time, with a final score of 679/679.

Now it's on to the third game, once I find the discs. Also, I'm torn between DQIX and Puzzle Quest 2 for the DS. Both are great!

Monthly Checkup
Only a day late this time. Go me.

So, how was June for everyone?

I haven't beat any games in a while, but I'm playing Persona 2: Eternal Punishment. I've started it before, but never completed it. I'm now further than I ever have been.

Where are you at?

Finally, something to report
Well, I've beaten Pokémon Trainer Red in Pokémon HeartGold, which was the condition I imposed on myself for beating the game. Finally, something I can cross off!

I'm going to go back to playing Dragon Quest IV now, which I dropped like a hot coal upon receiving HeartGold.

Monthly Checkup
I realized that I skipped May. However, I did not realize that I had also skipped April. Way to go, Ket. I am taking measures to see that I have a more active mod in place. If anyone also has any ideas for community activity, please let me know!

That being said, how has your gaming been the past few months? I have been doing a lot of fapping off and playing too much "Dead or Alive: Paradise", but I did beat Silent Hill 2. It almost feels like cheating, since I've watched a friend play it and watched a Let's Play, but it still counts. I threw Persona 2 into my PS2 for the first time in god knows how long. We'll see how that goes.

So, how have you guys been doing?

Another one bites the dust.
Atelier Annie: Alchemists of Sera Island. I did NOT get the best ending due to not knowing what I was doing, but..

I'm so hooked that I'm immediately starting a second playthrough. :)

But for all intents and purposes, it's been beaten and I've seen the credits. Yay me!

Backlog update!
Well, I shot any chance of reducing my backlog in the foot last weekend. I caved and got a PS3 (and accompanying stack o'games, along with a DS game and two PSP games). The additions to the backlog were: Brutal Legend, Final Fantasy XIII, Star Ocean: The Last Hope, Eternal Sonata, and Disgaea 3 for PS3 (we bought a racing game too but that's strictly the hubby's territory). I got Atelier Annie for DS, and the two PSP games were Star Ocean: Second Departure & Lunar: Silver Star Harmony.

I'm currently hooked on FF, so most of the other console games are on hold (including my progress in Star Ocean so far, except when I need to kill stuff, then I load up Brutal Legend). But I did manage to finish one game in the midst of all this - earlier this month, I purchased Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations. I finished that last night and am on to Atelier Annie now. Amazingly, I'm hooked on that one now - go figure!

The battle system is slighly bland and the Japanese voices grate on me, but the alchemy, oh, the alchemy. I can't put this stupid thing down!! :D

Anyway, I think 13 will be my first finished PS3 game, but we'll see. How's everyone else doing?

Monthly Checkup
Last month's was insanely late, but dammit, this month's is on time!

Except for restarting Lux Pain, I haven't done any gaming this month. I got too involved in moving, and made the grave error of placing my TV so that it is no longer within cord length of my computer, which is where I spend most of my time. I will have to figure out a way to fix that.

How about you guys? How was your gaming for the month of February? And January too, if you most last month's post?

Monthly Checkup
Sorry for the latess; I'm in the middle of moving, so everything is pretty chaotic for me right now.

I just beat "Bully" a few minutes ago (the end credits were rolling as I started this entry). It wasn't too bad. If you've played any of the Grand Theft Auto games, you kinda know what to expect, but I actually thought this was more fun. I haven't 100%ed the game, but really, I'm happy with end credits. I'm not sure what I'm going to play next--I might wait until I finish moving to worry about that.

So, how's it been going for you guys? What are you playing right now?

One resolution down.
As per my resolution post, I did finally finish off one of the DS games on it. After a year or so of being annoyed at World 8 on the New Super Mario Bros. DS, I was messing around tonight and cleared it. That was my last obstacle to the final castle, which only took me two tries (mind you, it's after midnight and I'm tired. My first try had me walking into a Thwomp. :P) So I can cross that off as Beaten, and it's on to something else.

I finished Scribblenauts this morning!

It was fun, although I can see why it's generally considered to be a mediocre game with a really good hook. The controls were really frustrating, too -- I found myself cursing at Maxwell a lot when he would, say, jump into a pit of lava because I didn't touch my stylus down in exactly the right place -- but I enjoyed it overall.

Normally, I would be selecting one of my old unfinished games to play now, but I did technically beat another game recently (Pass the Pigs, World Tour) so I'm letting myself buy another game in the form of Dragon Quest IV: Chapters of the Chosen. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it for sale anywhere in my neighbourhood. I pass by the largest mall in my province on my way to school every day, though, so I'll check there tomorrow. :)

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Muramasa beaten!
I finished Momohime's story over the weekend, and finished Kisuke's story last night. I'm now aiming for completion (all six endings, all swords forged, all enemy lairs cleared with both characters, and all bosses fought with both characters. POTENTIALLY may try the harder difficulty but we'll see). I loved getting a 500+ combo on Kisuke's Giant Centipede boss with Momohime, a battle which resulted in 1 ryo and 4000 mon (about 14000 mon).. :D

Lovely, lovely game. I'm so glad we decided to check it out!

off to a good start
I finished Dragon Quest IV on Monday, making it my first game of 2010. Threads of Fate is probably next, since I'm in the mood for something lighthearted and I heard that Mint's role is very entertaining.

Good luck to everyone with your goals this year!

Persona 3: FES
Chrono Trigger (DS)
Trauma Center
Eternal Sonata
Crisis Core: FF7
Persona 4
Tales of Destiny 2 (PSP)

Oh well.

Final Fantasy 5 (playing this since May...)
Blue Dragon (started in July)
Tales of Phantasia (playing this with my sister once we're done with ToS2)

Is anyone interested in a little competition? I have a feeling I won't be motivated enough to beat Nocturne on my own...

Gaming resolutions :P
Games Beat in 2009*

Ar tonelico 2

Dragon Quest IV
Dragon Quest V
Apollo Justice
Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles

Animal Crossing: City Folk (counted as beaten because I paid off my house)

* My Backloggery got hacked in February, so I lost a lot of the dates that I beat things.

Planned Games to Beat for 2010:

Mana Khemia 2
Shadow Hearts: From the New World

Grandia (I'm at the end but the fourth disc froze on my last PS2, so I've borrowed my niece's PS1)

New Super Mario Bros Wii
Super Mario Galaxy
Muramasa: The Demon Blade

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years

Paper Mario (N64)
Secret of Mana (SNES)

Zelda: Spirit Tracks
New Super Mario Bros (it's pathetic that my mother's beaten this before I have)
Chrono Trigger (beaten, but I want to get the rest of the endings)

Think I can do it? I sure hope so! ETA: Okay, I beat Apollo Justice in '08. I TOLD you I lost all my dates!

Plus anything new that I buy or anything new that I just decide to play. :-P!

2009 in Review
Games beaten in 2009:

Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure
New Super Mario Bros.
Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood
Trace Memory
Chrono Trigger
Super Mario 64 DS
Rhythm Heaven
Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Etrian Odyssey
Pass the Pigs (I got this one as a Christmas gift, and it had a World Tour mode. It wasn't hard, and it wasn't long, but hey, beat is beat.)
Dark Cloud (Technically beaten in 2010, but done before the yearly checkup, so I'll count it!)

I'm pretty satisfied -- a lot of those games are on the shorter side, but at least I can cross them off the list now. Beating Zelda was definitely the highlight of the year. XP

Games to beat in 2010:

Diddy Kong Racing
Children of Mana

Dark Cloud 2
Kingdom Hearts 2
Shining Tears
Romancing SaGa

More will be added as the year goes on. Probably the biggest challenges for me will be Diddy Kong Racing (those bosses can be hard) and LostMagic, which I got absolutely stuck on at a very early point.

Good luck to everyone in 2010!

[Game List]
Ah, 2009 was a total failure for me! ^^; I got super-interested in non-gaming things and am only now coming back around (well, trying to pursue multiple hobbies in moderation)...

So here's a quick list of games I'd like to play, try out, finish, etc.

Yearly Checkup
It's finally 2010. I waited an extra day to give everyone time to recover from New Year Partying, so it's back to gaming!

Did you play at all during December? I played a little bit of "Bully", and that's about it, but at least it's something. I also played some "Valkyrie Profile" for the PSP, but I already beat the PSX version, and it's the same game.

Since it's a new year, it's also time for a new "Games To Beat" list! Feel free to reply here, or to make your own entry. I'm going to do the latter, as soon as I get a list together.
